Travel reviews for Brassiere Beach
Date of stay: Jan 06, 2010
Accommodation and facilities:
Probably the greatest rip-off I have seen in Thailand. The rooms are worth 1500 baht at the very best, and lack some of the most basic elements, such as a mirror in the bathroom, or a wash basin. The bar features an impressive list of cocktails, but in reality only rum and beer were available. The location is such that it is extremely difficult to reach (and thus to get away from) and the resort provides no entertainment at night. The dinner on offer consist of a choice of one or two Thai dishes. Staff is friendly, but the whole resort needs a thorough makeover and is not worth the extortionate prices they currently charge (from foreigners only, of course, since they hep money ).
In summary, I would strongly recommend to stay away from this place.

A lovely, small hotel right on the very private beach. The service was friendly and attentive. Rooms are spacious, some with sea-views. Food delicious. A great quiet get-away from Bangkok! (And the national park nearby well worth a visit!)

I spent 3 days 2 nights at Brassiere Beach. It s incredible unexpected place. Very quiet, like private beach. We love there and hope that they can keep this atmospere util we visit again next time. Staffs are very nice and kind. Only weak water supply when we take shower is a bit trouble. Otherwise excellent.

Why is it Brassiere Beach ?
Legend has it, once very difficult to read a time there was a fisherman's
family who lived on this beach. They had a beautiful daughter who was
desired by many men. Her father promised to give his daughter to two
different kings. Later they both came to ask for the fisherman's daughter
on the same day.
The fisherman didn't know what to do. So he tore his daughter's body
into pieces and threw them out to the sea. Her breast fell into the
sea in front of Brassiere Beach. Villagers nearby the beach felt pity
for her so they made a spirit house where people come to give her brassieres.
Fishermen believe that giving her a brassiere will bring them good luck.
That's why there are a lot of brassieres around the spirit house. So
what else could be the name except Brassiere Beach.
